Ideally, when traveling to the first destination, Mendoza, all of the equipment should be carried as personal luggage. Sending it as air cargo involves a lot of paperwork at Customs and an officer is required for the procedure, for it is considered “temporary importation.”

It is advisable, then, to bring all of the personal -and as much of the general equipment as possible- with oneself. There are different options for general equipment, hiring local services to carry it being one of them.

Sending the gear by plane should be avoided, then, to prevent complications.
