Routes
Choosing a Route to Ascend.
Three routes are labeled normal in Aconcagua due to their low level of technical complexity. They are as follows:
-Pioneers normal route, from Plaza de Mulas base camp.
-Falso Polaco normal route, from Plaza Argentina base camp.
-The Vacas Valley or Guanacos route, from Plaza Guanacos base camp.
These are the three most popular routes, respectively, to ascend Mt. Aconcagua. Logistics and guided expeditions are organized by different companies.
There are other routes which are more difficult from a technical point of view, the most beautiful and frequently visited ones being the Polish Glacier route and the Southern Wall.
